Artist's Comments

Here's another image from my last session with ^wynnesome

This image is all about the design... so into Body Paint it goes.

Profile, the first image from the series, for me rides that line between Body Paint and Makeup.I say this because Profile was all about the face, with the design playing a supporting role.

Closed is all about execution detail. Body Paint it is.

Now, I could have done this with eye shadow and eye liner. Would that have made a difference to categorization?

Thoughts? Lemme hear them....

I don't think its fair to say that if the design plays a supporting role it is no longer body paint but make-up. I also believe it doesn't matter if you used make-up or body paint since they are generally made by the same companies. Body Paint is, more often then not, listed as Body Make-up. This might turn into one of those "eye of the beholder" things but maybe if we don't look at it so literally...what is the concept behind it? Is it character make-up or did you turn her eye into art for art's sake? I'm not good with words and I might just be running in circles with this one, but there has to be a line somewhere...right?

If art was a handsome man I'd rape him all night then have the nerv to make him breakfast in the morning

good words...

I don't have any concern using the "eye of the beholder" standard when categorizing an image that's in the Grey Zone.

It's defining the Zones themselves that is interesting to grapple.
