New Deal - P.W.A. Redux by Battledress New Deal - P.W.A. Redux by Battledress
:icondoomsday-dawn: came over and....

It was only a matter of time before body paint was combined with Sparks.

It did take a VERY long time to figure out WHAT body paint with sparks would look like. (Months, actually).

Once again, Michael was available to participate in an experimental paint. The goal was to create a very "painterly" feel reminiscent of Depression Era Public Works Art projects with a little bit of John Henry thrown in for good measure.

Body paint was all by hand brush (4 paint brushes), water based Ben Nye and Wolfe Brothers and covered all exposed skin.

This is another classic "Zero Photoshop" image from Adam. Meaning, no photo retouching beyond adding the water mark. In other words - Don't Try This At Home.

Midnight browsing sessions rarely result in eloquent comments from me...just wanted to say this is completely awesome and I can't stop looking at it.

As I said to *Doomsday-Dawn, the photography, body painting, and the model's expressive posture are so wonderful!

The only pain was emotional, as Michael sat most of the day while Adam and I figured out what to do.

This...is bloody fantastic work. I love the gloves. I have never seen painted gloves with that much attention to detail. The sweat marks, the wrinkles.

 Most excellent work! Looks a little freaky around the eyes, but that's what really drew me into the shot. Well done! :+fav:

That's fantastic. Is his hair painted on as well? The eyes kind of scare me...I feel like his expression should be one of hard work and sweat, and possibly anger, but all I'm getting is void/content.

Hair is all paint. Michael shaves his head bald.
The eyes are painted on his eyelids.
Yes, I wanted kind of a sculpture, simplistic look.
And I agree, if I had it to do over, I'd like some "Determination" in the eyes.

Oh okay. I thought the eyes looked painted, but for some reason painting on the eyelids didn't cross my mind. Haha.

You can see a spark impact off his cheek in this shot. Believe me, there were some scary looking outtakes. Having his eyes open would have been BAD.
