So.... had some friends over for the weekend.

~quietchildae was conned into a "short, simple proof of concept hybrid blacklight bodypaint nude figure scape study photo shoot."

Yeah. Riiiiiiiight.

A short body paint for me... done in under 1 hour. Still don't know how that happened.

Level adjustment in RAW. No Photo Shop.

Yes, you people - this is a photograph of a body paint.

Title is a quotation by Carl Sagan.

i think you did a really great job with the shadows blending against the black and blues of the body paint, the contrast against the background really works well as a whole , its a very striking image.

the gas clouds on her body are blended with just the right mix of colors to look realistic gas cloud. the colors and the blending are great.

the only draw back that i see, (and that is a small one) that the large Star burst shape right above her thigh, just needs a smidgen more blending in the center, you can see were the brush stops. unlike any other part of body paint
What do you think?

OMG THIS IS FANTASTIC! Cheap easy body paints right? Would the picture be affected at all if there were glitter added in? Or stick on rhinestones? Very very neat! Enjoying it!

Thank you!

Well, this image is a hybrid blacklight - so it took about an hour to get the pose and lighting locked down so I could create the shadow line wide enough form my galexy to fall into. The bodypaint took about 1.5-2 hours because of the very tight body mapping and literally fades to natural shadow. And a very tightly baffled blacklight is aimed just at the paint. Photography took another 1.5-2 hours because the photographer was very specific in getting the rest of the body's shadow lines just right.

The model kept breathing..... an annoying habit!

Since the design is 100% in the blacklight zone, glitter probably wouldn't have shown up since there was no "real" light to make it reflect. Jewels would not have shown unless they were blacklight reactive.

It looked good under regular light - just dint' have the intensity of color that the blacklight brings out.

This is a hybrid black light shoot.
There is a lot of carefully crafted lighting going on.

An professional grade blacklight spot was directed at the bodypaint.
Conventional flash photography ensured that skin tone color was maintained.

There are several hybrid blacklight images in my portfolio.

Absolutely stunning concept and execution! The concept of bodyscape and skyscape should cross paths more often.

I find ALL the tickle spots.

Airbrush doesn't seem to bother models as bad as paint brushes do.

This is my opinion talking here, but I do believe that this is your finest work, Lisa, even if it was done quickly it still rocks the house.:headbang:

I'm a big space art fan and a big fan of artistic nudes featuring photos by Wynnesome, Conundra and you. It is the epitome, the zenith of the art when you three get together :worship:

Excellent work! :+favlove:
